Millcreek Common

Millcreek Common Breaks Ground!

On Tuesday, Millcreek broke ground for Millcreek Common, the public plaza and open space that will become a gathering spot for all of Millcreek.

An ice ribbon, a splash pad, ground floor retail, and a food truck park, will be highlights of the open space plaza. Pizza Nono, the popular 9th and 9th establishment, will be opening a second location as the first eatery on Millcreek Common.

Invitations were unfortunately limited because of COVID-19 restrictions, but Mayor Silvestrini was joined at the groundbreaking by County Mayor Jenny Wilson, State Senator Jani Iwamoto, County Councilmembers Ann Granato and Steve DeBry, and the Millcreek City Council, as well as City staff and the chairs of Millcreek's Planning Commission and Community Councils. Representatives of EPG Design (who designed the open space) and Hogan Construction were also present.

Several enthusiastic young Millcreekers toted their ice skates to the ceremony in honor of and in anticipation of the ice ribbon. The City is hoping to have the ice ribbon open for Thanksgiving weekend.

Millcreek Common is Phase One of the Millcreek City Center Master Plan. The Master Plan was created in response to Millcreek residents' expressed desire for a vibrant and accessible city center. The anticipated completion date for Phase One is November 2021.

You can watch the recording of the groundbreaking ceremony and view artist renderings of Millcreek Common here.

You can also watch Fox 13's story on the event here. We look forward to the day when we all gather safely as friends and neighbors at Millcreek Common.

Second Round of PPP Ends Soon!

The second round of PPP ends March 31!

"The Paycheck Protection Program now allows certain eligible borrowers that previously received a PPP loan to apply for a Second Draw PPP Loan with the same general loan terms as their First Draw PPP Loan.

Second Draw PPP Loans can be used to help fund payroll costs, including benefits. Funds can also be used to pay for mortgage interest, rent, utilities, worker protection costs related to COVID-19, uninsured property damage costs caused by looting or vandalism during 2020, and certain supplier costs and expenses for operations.

Maximum loan amount and increased assistance for accommodation and food services businesses

For most borrowers, the maximum loan amount of a Second Draw PPP Loan is 2.5x the average monthly 2019 or 2020 payroll costs up to $2 million. For borrowers in the Accommodation and Food Services sector (use NAICS 72 to confirm), the maximum loan amount for a Second Draw PPP Loan is 3.5x the average monthly 2019 or 2020 payroll costs up to $2 million.

Who may qualify
A borrower is generally eligible for a Second Draw PPP Loan if the borrower:

  • Previously received a First Draw PPP Loan and will or has used the full amount only for authorized uses
  • Has no more than 300 employees; and
  • Can demonstrate at least a 25% reduction in gross receipts between comparable quarters in 2019 and 2020."
