Millcreek Business Market Flier

Millcreek Business Market Opportunity!

The Millcreek Business Council will be hosting the Millcreek Business Market on Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Millcreek Common (1354 East Chambers Ave, Millcreek, UT, 84106). This is a great opportunity for businesses to connect, market, and hire. Set up will take place at 3:00 PM on event day. More details will come as the event gets closer.

The Millcreek Business Market has three purposes:

• Connect – we want local licensed Millcreek Businesses to connect with the Millcreek community. This will be a great opportunity to show the community what it is that you do. This event will be held during Food Truck Thursday, the Millcreek Common skate loop will be open, and we are inviting individuals from all over Millcreek and the Valley to join. We hope this event will be a fun celebration for your business and one that really draws a crowd.

• Market – along the lines of connecting with the community, this will be an amazing place to market your business. You can bring any sort of fliers, marketing materials, create a fun activity for the public, and sell your goods with no additional business license required! The Millcreek Business Council and Millcreek City will also help advertise this event with your company’s logos on our marketing. Marketing will go out in the Millcreek Business Council E-Newsletter, the Millcreek City E-Newsletter, go on the Digital District Sign at Millcreek Common, and fliers will be going out all over the valley including to universities in Northern Utah, local Millcreek Businesses, apartment buildings, and more! This is a great opportunity to reach the community.

• Hire – we are working with Granite School District and the Department of Workforce Services to bring in job seekers from around the valley. We would love it if your business were hiring to showcase that to the public and for your business to connect with potential employees during the event.

This event is an exclusive opportunity for licensed Millcreek Businesses. It is a NONREFUNDABLE $50 to register for this event.

• Your $50 registration fee includes 10 free skate passes around the Millcreek Common skate loop ($120 value) for the event night only! Invite your employees, families, and friends to help you with this event and enjoy some free skating that night!

• Don’t have your own event tent? Rent one of ours for an additional (and optional) $100! Bringing your own event tents are encouraged and a free option.

We only have 35 spots available, so REGISTER TODAY! Deadline to register by August 12th, 2023!

St. Mark's Hospital

St. Mark's Hospital New Patient Tower

Millcreek City and the Millcreek Business Council loved welcoming the new patient tower at St. Mark's Hospital! This new tower will continue to provide quality patient care to those in the Millcreek community and other surrounding areas in the region! St. Mark's is also celebrating their 50 year anniversary of being in Millcreek, so they put together a time capsule to open in another 50 years in their new building. Can you spot the Millcreek City face mask?

Canyon Rim Cares Day of Service Re-Cap

Thanks to all the volunteers, sponsors, businesses and non profit organizations who helped make this year’s Canyon Rim Cares such a success. With ~500 people in attendance, the things we were able to accomplish was nothing short of extraordinary. Here’s a bit of a recap on all of the projects:

  • Over $13,000 was raised and hundreds of volunteers helped assemble over 1,100 school supply kits that will be donated to local and international refugee students. With the excess supplies donated, we’ll be able to assemble another 300 kits
  • Nearly 100 people donated or created approximately 200 winter hats and 100 items of winter clothing, all to be donated this fall to local individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • More than 100 people contributed to the creation of a beautiful 70’ mural on the south end of Canyon Rim Park and a wrap for the electrical box in the park.
  • 60 “connection kits” to help families experiencing mental health crises were assembled in less than 30 minutes.
  • 100 summer emergency kits were distributed
  • 50 items were donated to help fill the emergency cache containers.
  • Assembled close to 100 bracelets to give home to patrons of a local food pantry

If we all do a little, we can accomplish a lot.

See you next July at Canyon Rim Park as we continue to make an impact in our community and the world.

Wellness Corner - Why "Slow and Steady" Always Wins The Race

By: Ben Fogel

There are so many internet businesses out there that are spending millions and millions of dollars to buy your eyes and attention to purchase that next “quick fix” – the next “Magic Pill.”

The more money they spend on advertising the next pill, potion, supplement, or challenge, the more money they make – AND the more people they lead down a path that is not sustainable.

After spending over 16 years in the health and fitness industry, and working with thousands of clients, I can confidently say there is NO magic pill.  There is no quick fix that will target that “stubborn belly fat” or that will “melt away” body fat like never before.

What all of these amazing marketers are not telling you is that the real magic pill is consistency over time and having the discipline to stay the course.
