What Exactly is the Millcreek Business Council?

The Millcreek Business Council is a voice for the business community to city leaders of Millcreek; a liaison between City Hall and the business community; a driver of growth and retainer of businesses; a branch of marketing for the business community; and an asset for local employers to support their workforce needs.

Any licensed business in Millcreek is automatically a member of the Business Council, at no additional charge. All interested are invited to participate in the committees or activities of their choice. Meetings are held at City Hall; interested individuals should reach out to the respective committee chairs for further details (see below).

MILLCREEK BOGOS

Millcreek BOGOS (Buy-One-Get-One-Free Deals) is a new addition to the website of the Millcreek Business Council, an official auxiliary of the new city of Millcreek. It is a great place for Millcreek residents and visitors alike to find deals at some of their favorite Millcreek restaurants, shops, and services!

WHO CAN POST A BOGO? Any licensed business in Millcreek is eligible AT NO CHARGE, although there is a limit to one deal per business per quarter. Join Tres Hombres, Provisions, The Baking Hive, Rawtopia, C. Kay Cummings Chocolates, Maria’s Mexican Grill, and more!

HOW DO THE CUSTOMERS USE THE COUPON? They can print them off and cut them out, or just show it on their phone at purchase.

WHAT IS THE STANDARD “FINE PRINT” ON EACH COUPON? Expiration date for the deal would be the last day of the quarter, limited one coupon per party per visit. Other “fine print” can be dictated by the business, such as restrictions of certain days, hours, or menu items.

MUST THE DEAL BE A BOGO? Yes. Please make the deal buy-one-get-one of equal or lesser value (i.e., buy one dessert, get one free; buy one pedicure, get one free; etc.)

WHEN WILL THIS START? The first group of Millcreek BOGOS will run from July 1-Sep. 30.

HOW WILL THIS BE PROMOTED? In addition to being listed on the Millcreek Business Council website, Millcreek BOGOS will be promoted through city and business council social media channels, as well as through Millcreek’s newsletter and weekly e-newsletter.

Emergency Preparedness Committee:

This committee coordinates with City Hall and business leaders to help businesses prepare for disasters and business continuity.

Venture Out!/Outdoor Recreation Committee:

This committee works with the City’s Venture Out! Summer Festival and identifies ways businesses can be involved in the fun as well as represents the large outdoor recreation sector in Millcreek to host industry specific events.

Earthquake Text Message Campaign

Between February 1st and the 23rd, Utah had 8 “feelable” earthquakes. Sign up for tips and info today!

These texts:

provide information about earthquakes in Utah
promote emergency preparedness
answer the common questions
provide information following a major quake

Sound the Alarm

On May 8th the Red Cross will team up with fire departments, volunteers, and community partners to Sound the Alarm with a home fire safety and smoke alarm installation event.

In neighborhoods near Scott Avenue Park volunteers plan to install up to 3 alarms per household while also sharing lifesaving fire safety tips and evacuation plans with families.

Installations will take place from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
