Project Overview
Millcreek is planning to enhance pedestrian safety and promote active transportation options by installing sidewalks and bike lanes along 2000 East, from 3300 South to Atkin Avenue. The project will also include roadway resurfacing activities to prolong the road's lifespan. This is phase 2 of the 2000 East improvement project, following the completion of phase 1 in Fall 2024.
The 2000 E improvement team is currently working on the project's design phase and expects to share information with affected residents along the corridor in Spring 2025.*
Project benefits include:
- Piping of the west side irrigation ditch
- Installation of a pedestrian-friendly sidewalk
- Creating a new bike lane for active transportation
- Conducting pavement preservation efforts through roadway resurfacing activities
The Public Involvement team will reach out to residents in the affected area before construction begins. During the project, residents can expect the following:
- Construction activities will take place during daytime hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
- Increased noise, dust, and vibration
- Intermittent road closures and traffic shifts
